Stealing at school… Really?

We implemented our plan of when our 2nd grade daughter takes something of someone else’s, she has to give away something of hers.  This made a significant impact.  We explained the process to her and she went to get one of her stuffed animals.  It took her over a half hour to pick and choose… she first brought us her brothers bear and tried to pass it off as hers… then several broken and/or disrepair items. (We at least got some of the toy box cleaned… LOLOL  threw out some items… returned items to her brothers and sister.) Then finally, she broke down and said that she did not want to give away one of her items.  We then explained how do you think that people feel when you take their things?  Sad was her response… tears flowed… she finally came up with one stuffed animal to give away.   We put it in the Goodwill box.  Finally, we explained to her that any time from here on out if she takes anything that this is the process.
